The Goals
Feed The Country is a national day of service powered by Tango Charities’ Feed The City movement. On Saturday, September 19, 2026, more than 100 communities across the United States will host Feed The City events on the same morning. Over 10,000 volunteers will pack more than 250,000 meals for kids, families, seniors, and veterans facing hunger during the 250th Anniversary of the United States.

Tango Charities currently operates more than 45 monthly Feed The City events nationwide (find a monthly event here). This day is not the long-term solution to hunger. It is the spark that brings communities together to act, to learn, to see the need in their own backyard, and to stay involved long after the event is over.

42M
Across America, millions of meals are missing each day, a gap that volunteers, nonprofits, & community efforts are striving to close.
60%
More than half of households struggling to get enough food include kids, underscoring the urgency of packing meals and serving families.
The Road to Feed The Country
Hunger is not a one-day issue, and solving it requires year-round awareness, action, and community involvement. That’s why The Road to Feed The Country includes a series of national moments and activations leading up to September 19, 2026. Each milestone is designed to shine a spotlight on hunger at the times it impacts people most: spring break, summer hunger, back-to-school season, the holidays, and beyond.

Throughout the year, we will host challenges, awareness campaigns, volunteer activities, and record-breaking events that highlight the realities faced by children, seniors, veterans, and families nationwide. Every moment on the road builds momentum, elevates the conversation, and mobilizes communities long before the one-day national event.

By the time we reach September 19, the nation won’t just be ready to pack meals; we’ll be united, educated, energized, and fully engaged in the fight against hunger.

Where the Food Will Go
Every meal packed during Feed The Country will go directly back into the local community. Our model ensures that food is distributed first to organizations within a 10-mile radius of each event location, reaching shelters, food pantries, schools, and nonprofits serving kids and families in need.

In some areas, the number of meals prepared may exceed the immediate capacity of local organizations. When that happens, Tango Charities will step in to coordinate with trusted partners to make sure no meal goes to waste. Every sandwich, snack, and decorated bag will find a home with someone who needs it most.

By keeping the focus local while also having a national reach, Feed The Country makes a double impact: uniting thousands of volunteers across the USA while directly strengthening the communities where they live.
